Investing in the Next Generation of Leaders Across the Competitive Energy Industry
BROOKLYN, N.Y., July 23, 2026 — Energy Marketing Conferences (“EMC”) and its Women’s Energy Alliance (“WEA”) are proud to announce its founding sponsorship of the newly formed Young Professionals Network (“YPN”), an association created to develop, connect, and empower young professionals of all genders within the competitive energy industry.
While WEA remains dedicated to advancing and supporting women throughout the energy sector, its mission has always included strengthening the industry as a whole. Sponsoring YPN represents a natural extension of that commitment by investing in the next generation of leaders, through education, mentorship, professional development, and meaningful networking opportunities.
YPN was established to provide emerging professionals 30 years of age and younger with the resources, relationships, and industry knowledge needed to build successful and lasting careers. Through leadership development, educational programming, mentorship, and networking, YPN will help cultivate the future leaders of the competitive energy industry.
“Strong industries don’t happen by accident, they are built by developing strong people,” said Ashely Murphy, Co-Founder of WEA. “The Women’s Energy Alliance has always believed in investing in people. Through YPN, we’re extending that commitment to the next generation by creating opportunities for young women and young men to learn, grow, and lead together. When we invest in young professionals today, we’re investing in the future success of our entire industry.”
Annual membership in YPN is $99.
Recognizing that financial barriers should never prevent someone from growing professionally, WEA is also making its “Pay It Forward Program” available to prospective YPN members. Through this initiative, individuals may confidentially apply for a sponsored membership by emailing christina@womensenergyalliance.org. Membership scholarships are made possible through the generosity of sponsors who believe in investing in the future workforce of the competitive energy industry.
As YPN’s founding sponsor, WEA will provide strategic guidance and organizational support by:
- Recruiting one male and one female industry leader to serve as advisors to the YPN Co-Chairs.
- Assisting in the launch of YPN’s Competitive Energy 101 educational Lunch & Learn series.
- Inviting YPN members to participate in select WEA educational programming and chapter meetings.
- Including YPN members in WEA’s nationally recognized mentorship program by pairing members with experienced industry mentors.
- Providing leadership guidance and organizational resources to support YPN’s continued growth.
YPN’s educational programming will focus on industry fundamentals, leadership development, career advancement, professional networking, and mentorship while fostering collaboration among the next generation of professionals.
Pay it Forward
WEA invites organizations and industry partners to participate in the WEA Pay It Forward Program by sponsoring memberships for Women’s Energy Alliance (WEA) and Young Professionals Network (YPN) members who may otherwise be unable to participate due to financial circumstances.
Sponsor contributions directly fund membership scholarships, mentorship opportunities, educational programming, leadership development, and networking experiences across both organizations, ensuring that aspiring and emerging professionals have access to the resources, relationships, and opportunities needed to grow personally and professionally.
Together, we can strengthen the competitive energy industry by investing in people, expanding access to opportunity, and empowering both today’s leaders, and the future leaders of tomorrow.
