Headquartered in Lubbock, Texas, Abundance Energy is an established ERCOT retail electricity provider focused primarily on residential customers, with strong penetration in both single-family and multi-family markets. The company has built one of the region’s fastest-growing residential electricity platforms and is actively developing new distributed energy programs designed to enhance grid resilience and customer energy flexibility.

As part of the transition, Abundance Energy will migrate all active ERCOT customers from its previous billing platform to Titanium Billing, consolidating billing operations onto a modern, high-performance infrastructure capable of supporting complex product structures and advanced energy services.

Beyond traditional retail electricity services, Abundance Energy is developing an integrated residential energy ecosystem that combines smart thermostats, solar generation, and distributed battery storage. These resources can be aggregated into Virtual Power Plants (VPPs) that allow thousands of homes to operate collectively as a flexible energy resource capable of supporting the ERCOT grid during periods of peak demand and system stress.

As part of this strategy, Abundance Energy is collaborating with sonnen, a global leader in residential battery technology and Virtual Power Plant software, to enable coordinated battery fleets capable of delivering grid services while also improving energy resiliency for homeowners. By orchestrating thousands of distributed residential batteries, the company aims to unlock new grid services capabilities within ERCOT while helping customers better manage energy costs and reliability.

After evaluating multiple billing vendors, Abundance Energy selected ESG based on the strength of its API architecture, product flexibility, and ability to support highly customized, technology-driven energy offerings.
