Substituted Act Would Authorize FPSC To Establish An Experimental Mechanism To Facilitate Gas Infrastructure Investment
Under the substituted language, such investment would only be permitted to include investments that collect, prepare, clean, process, transport, or inject natural gas for pipeline distribution. FPSC would be required to propose rules to implement and administer the establishment of an experimental mechanism by February 1, 2025.
As introduced: this act would (1) authorize utilities to recover costs incurred for renewable natural gas infrastructure projects; (2) specify eligible renewable natural gas infrastructure projects; (3) encourage counties and municipalities to develop regional solutions to certain energy issues; and (4) authorize a farm-to-fuel initiative to address the production and capture of renewable natural gas.
