National Grid Residential POR Discount Proposed To Increase To 3Commercial POR Discount Increases To 3.5%
National Grid in Massachusetts has filed an update to the standard complete billing percentages (SCBPs), or purchase of receivables (POR) discount rates, proposed to be effective May 1, 2024.
As filed in an explanatory letter, National Grid’s proposed SCBPs for effect May 1, 2024, are as follows (current rates provided for comparison):
Current Proposed
Residential 1.99% 2.99%
Commercial 2.63% 3.53%
Industrial 0.39% 0.35%
For the residential discount, the largest driver of the increase is the absence of a -0.74% past period reconciliation that is included in the current discount.
For commercial, the uncollectible component increased to 2.49% from the current 1.92%, while the reconciliation component increased to 1.04% from 0.71%.
