Commission Files Public Notice Of Cybersecurity Conference

From Notice: 

  1. Through this Public Notice, the Public Service Commission of the District of Columbia (“Commission”) schedules a Cybersecurity Conference to discuss, among other topics, best practices that the electric and natural gas utilities are taking to protect their infrastructures from cybersecurity threats. The conference is scheduled for Tuesday, May 14, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 
  2. The Commission will hear from NARUC’s Center for Partnership and Innovation, the Potomac Electric Power Company (“Pepco”), and Washington Gas Light Company (“WGL”) on topics including each company’s cyber risk management programs, public notification methods when breaches occur, and reporting structures for cybersecurity attacks on their information networks and control systems. The Commission will hear from the following representatives: a. NARUC: Lynn P. Costantini; Deputy Director, Center for Partnerships and Innovation; b. Pepco: Steven Foley, Vice-President & Chief Information Security Officer; and c. WGL: Michael Yuen; Senior Director & Chief Information Security Officer, AltaGas/WGL. 
  3. The public is invited to register to attend the in-person conference by visiting the Commission’s website at https://dcpsc.org/Utility-Information/DCPSC-Cybersecurity-Conference.aspx.  While this conference is in-person, the public may view a live feed by visiting the above webpage.
