CMP Files Comments On Interconnection Process
Re: The MEPUC initiated an inquiry to examine the regularity with which utilities and developers comply with some timeline provisions in Chapter 324 of the MEPUC’s rules. Chapter 324 includes specific timelines for the interconnection process and the MEPUC would like information on whether some of the timelines in Chapter 324 are reasonable for interconnection customers and if these timelines reflect current utility practice.
CMP filed comments (Of note, CMP: (1) “advocates that Chapter 324 timelines should be evaluated holistically and not for perfect adherence, as a more holistic approach balances queue management while saving administrative costs”; and (2) echoes “a comment made by Versant during the technical conference regarding the need for further clarification on the definition edits to Interconnection Facilities made during the last rule change, and which upgrades are considering Interconnection Facilities versus Distribution Upgrades.”
