Commission Files Request For Reply Comments And Notice Of Hearing In Maryland Energy Advocates Coalition’s Petition For Rulemaking
On June 2, 2023, the Maryland Energy Advocates Coalition (“MEAC”) filed with the Commission a Petition for Rulemaking and Request for a Rulemaking Session. On August 2, 2023, the Commission issued a Notice of Petition and Request for Comments on the Petition and other potential energy retail market reforms that should enhance the benefits of retail choice to consumers in Maryland. On November 6, 2023, the Commission received comments from the Petitioner and other interested parties.
Accordingly, the Commission initiates Public Conference 60 (“PC60”) to consider comments from energy retail market reforms and hereby provides interested persons the opportunity to file Reply Comments by April 8, 2024. Reply Comments shall be e-filed using the Commission’s e-File system, 2 include “PC 60” in the subject line, and be addressed to Andrew S. Johnston, Executive Secretary, Maryland Public Service Commission, William Donald Schaefer Tower, 6 St. Paul Street, 16th Floor, Baltimore, Maryland 21210.
Thereafter, the Commission will hold a legislative-style hearing to further consider the Petition, the Comments and Reply Comments, and appropriate next steps in this matter on May 1, 2024, beginning 10 minutes after the regularly scheduled Administrative Meeting at 10:00 AM in the Frank O. Heintz Hearing Room, 16th Floor, William Donald Schaefer Tower, 6 St. Paul Street, Baltimore, Maryland.
