Of note, “several entities have agreed to participate in an open working group to explore issues related to distributed generation interconnection processes, including but not limited to the potential for a form of an ERCOT Hosting Capacity Analysis (ERCOT HCA) to be performed by distribution utilities,” after which, “The working group, in part or in whole, may provide a recommendation” to Staff, which will include “additional specific information on the necessary characteristics of an ERCOT HCA” if the recommendation is to adopt.
Previously on January 9, 2024, AutoGrid Systems filed comments on interoperability issues.
As background, this rulemaking was established to develop technical requirements and interconnection processes for distributed energy resources (DERs). This revision would repeal existing regulations, relating the interconnection of on-site distributed generation (DG), and propose new ones on the interconnection of distribution resources for parallel operation.
