UI Files Compliance Notice Regarding Non-Residential Renewable Energy Solutions
On April 1st UI filed a compliance notice stating the utility has implemented the following interconnection proposals:
- UI deployed a data-retrieval feature to streamline the RRES application process and minimize manual entry errors;
- The signature and application pages are now fully integrated within the PowerClerk application workflow;
- UI consolidated the three data-entry sections—SITE, LINE, and TECH—into a single unified page for RRES applications;
- A duration counter now appears alongside each workflow status, reflecting the number of days a project has remained in that status; and
- A responsibility-tracking field now displays whether the next action belongs to UI or to the applicant.
Next Steps:
The utilities will work with IXWG members on a proposed solution in advance of an 4/7/26 meeting of the IXWG.
At the 4/7/26 meeting of the IXWG, the utilities will present the final version of a proposed solution for a formal vote of the IXWG members.
The utilities will file a motion for review and approval with PURA by 4/10/26.
As background, PURA opened this proceeding to evaluate proposals from the Interconnection Working Group to address issues that have arisen during the annual reviews of the Non-Residential Renewable Energy Solutions (NRES) and Energy Storage Solutions (ESS) programs. Rather than addressing these issues on a one-off basis, PURA has instructed the Interconnection Working Group “to compile an Interconnection Report addressing the unresolved issues within a 100-Day Sprint.”
