Attorney General Files Preliminary POR Comments

Requests a Full Investigation into Utility’s POR Filing

The Massachusetts’s Attorney General Office (AGO) filed preliminary comments requesting that the “Department fully investigate the Company’s POR filing in an administrative adjudication. Such formal investigation should provide the opportunity for a full procedural schedule with dates for discovery, expert testimony, evidentiary hearings, and submission of briefs, and should comply with all other requirements set forth in G.L. c. 30A § 11.”

As reported previously on March 16, 2026, Eversource Energy (“Company”) filed its calculation of purchase of receivables (“POR”) discount rates by customer class with the Department of Public Utilities for an effective date of May 1, 2026.

On March 31, 2026 the Department issued a Notice of Filing and Request for Comments.

The AGO’s comments were submitted in response to the Department’s notice for comments.

In its POR filing, Eversource proposed the following POR discounts:
