PUC Approves Natural Gas Utility Acquisition

In an order issued on April 16, 2026 the Pennsylvania Public Utilities Commission (PUC) approved the application of National Fuel Gas Distribution Corporation to acquire North East Heat & Light Company (NEHL).

NEHL provides natural gas service to approximately 2,900 customers in North East Township and the Borough of Northeast in Erie County, Pennsylvania.

Customers of NEHL at the time of the transaction close will remain on their current NEHL tariffs until a rate case merges the tariffs.
