BG&E of Maryland File New SOS Rates
Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE) filed the New Energy Rates & SOS Admin. Charges for the period October 1, 2026 to May 31, 2027 for residential and Type I customers, and new SOS energy rates for the period June 1, 2026 to August 31, 2026 for Type II customers
More specifically BG&E filed Supplement 751 to P.S.C. Md. E-6, BGE’s Retail Electric Service Tariff. The revised Rider 1 – Standard Offer Service (SOS) and Schedule PL tariffs are to be effective June 1, 2026, and reflect updated SOS energy rates previously accepted by the Maryland Public Service Commission in Order No. 92299, issued on April 17, 2026, in the above-referenced cases, as well as updated SOS administrative charges.
Based on results from the April 13, 2026 SOS procurement processes, this filing revises Rider 1 – Standard Offer Service (SOS) to include the Residential, Type I and Type II energy rates. The Residential and Type I energy rates cover the period October 1, 2026 through May 31, 2027. The Schedules PL and SL Type I energy rates are effective June 1, 2026 through May 31, 2027. Type II energy rates are effective June 1, 2026 through August 31, 2026.
Under Rider 1, the SOS Administrative Charges are subject to adjustment in the February, June and October billing months to reflect the estimated incremental, uncollectible and cash working capital costs of providing Residential, Type I, Type II, and Hourly Service. Effective June 2026, the Company performed its true-ups of actual incremental, uncollectible, and cash working capital costs to the estimated costs of providing Residential, Type I, Type II, and Hourly Service. Any over- or under-collection of costs compared to the estimated costs for the program year to date are included in the projected Rider 1 rates herein.
The total SOS Administrative Charges for Residential, Type I and Type II, and Hourly Service will change effective with usage on or after June 1, 2026 from 4.77 mills per kWh, 4.18 mills per kWh, 3.27 mills per kWh and 2.62 mills per kWh to 4.47 mills per kWh, 3.76 mills per kWh, 3.52 mills per kWh, and 3.01 mills per kWh, respectively. The individual proposed cost components of BGE’s Administrative Charge for Residential, Type I, Type II, and Hourly Service customers.
