ICC Notice of Inquirry Findings on Potential Nuclear Facility Sites
A new staff report from the ICC details nine communities and one university interested in hosting new nuclear generation facilities in Illinois. The report summarizes findings from the Notice of Inquiry (26-NOI-02) process initiated in response to Governor JB Pritzker’s Executive Order (2026-01) to help identify sites with strong potential to support new nuclear projects.
The report delves into land and water availability, local economic development attributes, support from community members and key stakeholders, availability of interconnection infrastructure, and other relevant considerations.
