Utility Proposes Large Increases To Residential And Small C&I POR Rates
In its annual purchase of receivables (POR) update, Fitchburg Gas and Electric (Unitil) of Massachusetts in Massachusetts proposes large POR rate increases to its Residential and Small/Regular General Service.
In its filing, Unitil’s proposed POR discount rates, formally known as Standard Complete Billing Percentages (SCBPs), are proposed to be effective December 1, 2025
Fitchburg Gas and Electric propose to set the residential POR discount at 5.47% from the current 2.30%.
And for small & regular general service customers, the POR discount would increase to 2.16% from the current 0.63%.
The utility alleges that the overall POR discount increases in both customer groups are driven by both higher uncollectibles and higher reconciliation factors.
