Purchase Of Receivable Program Updates
The New Hampshire PUC approved as filed Unitil’s initial discount rates for Unitil’s new electricity purchase of receivables (POR) program.
The initial POR discount at Unitil will be 1.63% for Residential customers, and 0.43% for General Service customers, to be in effect from June 1, 2025 through July 31, 2026.
The PUC ordered that Unitil shall implement the POR program by June 1, 2025.
As previously reported, the New Hampshire PUC also approved utility Liberty’s initial discount percentage rate of 1.439%, effective through July 31, 2026, while Eversource’s initial discount rates were approved on May 1, 2025. The residential rate will be 1.285% and the non- residential rate will be 0.274%. Eversource must implement the POR program by July 1.
On May 1st, the NHPUC issued an order approving Eversource’s initial discount percentage rate (DPR). Among other things, the order: (1) approves the initial DPR of: (i) residential – 1.285%; (ii) non-residential – 0.274%; and (2) directs Eversource to: (i) implement the POR program by 7/1/25; and (ii) by 7/31/25, “issue an initial payment to all Suppliers for any existing accounts receivable of customers billed through the Consolidated Billing Service.”
