Decision Filed In Investigation Into Electric Utility Planning & New Rate Designs And Review
From Proposed Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (Authority or PURA) Final Decision:
[ *** ] On December 20, 2024, the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (Authority or PURA) determined it was necessary to reconsider how The Connecticut Power and Light Company d/b/a Eversource Energy (Eversource) and The United Illuminating Company (UI; jointly, electric distribution companies or EDCs or Companies) transition the 10% low income discount rate (LIDR) customers from the two-tiered to the five-tiered LIDR in the Authority’s November 20, 2024 Decision (Modified LIDR Decision) when the EDCs implement the five-tiered LIDR. After reconsidering the evidence in this proceeding, the Authority determines that the Companies shall transition all LIDR customers to the customer’s appropriate LIDR tier when the Companies each implement the five-tiered LIDR, rather than maintaining the customer’s tier discount level for the remainder of the customer’s 12-month enrollment period, in accordance with the direction provided in this decision reconsideration.
