Utility Files Updated Residential SOS Rates
From the utility letter filing:
{***} “Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE or the Company) files herewith Supplement 732 to P.S.C. Md. E-6, BGE’s Retail Electric Service Tariff. This Supplement includes the interim revision of Rider 1 – Standard Offer Service (SOS) Residential and Type I rates, effective June 1, 2025 through September 30, 2025, to reflect the latest capacity costs based on the PJM Final Zonal Net Load Price recently known in the PJM 3rd Incremental Auction (IA) for delivery year 2025/2026, the results of which were posted on March 11, 2025. As noted, Supplement 732 is an interim revision of SOS rates to be effective June 1, 2025, with the annual update to Rider 1 to be effective on June 1, 2025 expected to be filed later this spring to reflect updated retail transmission rates which are based on the FERC-jurisdictional wholesale transmission rate to be filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in late April or early May 2025.
Updating the June 2025 Rider 1 SOS energy rates enables the Company to promptly and transparently reflect the actual capacity costs in energy rates published now but to be effective in June 2025, given that the actual capacity costs are significantly different from the capacity proxy price.” {***}
