Legislation Would Allow Carbon Offsets For Natural Gas

Senate Bill SB151 as introduced would allow a retail natural gas supplier to offer customers a voluntary carbon offset program, subject to certain restrictions and the oversight of the Ohio PUC.

This bill could expand the range of products that retail gas suppliers can offer customers in Ohio. It is sponsored by Sen. Wilkin, who has been supporter of retail choice in the state legislature and is currently under consideration by the Senate Public Utilities Committee.
