Request For Written Comments In Energy Affordability Annual Review
[ *** ] On January 31, 2025, The Connecticut Light and Power Company and Yankee Gas Services Company, each individually d/b/a Eversource Energy (collectively, Eversource), and The United Illuminating Company, Connecticut Natural Gas Corporation, and The Southern Connecticut Gas Corporation (collectively, Avangrid; together with Eversource, Companies) filed a joint motion (Motion No. 4) requesting that the Authority review and approve the Companies’ proposed application of Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) awards to Matching Payment Plan (MPP) monthly customer bills, pursuant to Order No. 10 of the Authority’s November 6, 2024 Decision in Docket No. 24-05-01, Annual Review of Affordability Programs and Offerings (Energy Affordability Annual Review).
To facilitate the evaluation of this issue, the Authority requests that Participants file written comments on or before March 10, 2025, by 4:00 P.M., addressing the following:
- Provide comments on the Companies’ proposal regarding the application of CEAP awards to customers’ monthly MPP bills, filed as Motion No. 4 in this proceeding, including but not limited to, discussion of the following items:
- Whether the Companies’ proposal complies with § 30 of Public Act 23- 102, An Act Strengthening Protections for Connecticut’s Consumers of Energy; 1 and
- How the Companies’ proposal benefits both MPP participants and all ratepayers. [ *** ]
