Staff Files Draft DER Application – Comments Sought

Maryland PSC Staff filed a draft “Application for License to Operate as a Distributed Energy Resource in the State of Maryland” for the Maryland Public Service Commission consideration.
Comments on the proposed draft DER license application are due by February 20, 2025.
Other important upcoming due dates:
- By July 1, 2025, each utility must file one or more time-of-use rate tariffs.
- By July 1, 2025, each utility must submit to the MDPSC for approval a pilot program or temporary tariff for electric distribution system support services provided by VPP and V2G programs.
- By July 1, 2026, each utility must submit a report to the MDPSC evaluating the potential to avoid or defer electric distribution system capital projects.
