CA – PG&E: Important Update – Billing System Replacement [UPDATE] as of 6/17/2025

We’re reaching out to provide an update on one of our billing system replacement projects. Please see the following important updates regarding the status and upcoming changes (Identified Changes to Data Structure and Content, Change in Provider Billing Schedule, and Deployment Timeline Updates)
Key System Changes Identified
New usage loop in Electric 867 Monthly Usage Summary: an additional loop is being added to include kVARh data for improved reporting accuracy (see attached for sample transaction)
ABS DOB (detail of Bill) Sunset: The ABS DOB format will no longer be available. It will be replaced by an updated format we refer to internally as the “Blue Bill”, which will contain similar billing detail. Some rates may include an additional supplemental report.
Billing Schedule Alignment
To streamline operations across platforms, we will transition from Read cycle based billing and switching to Bill Cycle based processes. Please note that some exceptions will remain, such as EMR meter configurations.
Deployment Timeline Update
Our original deployment target of June has been postponed to August 26, 2026
