Renewable Energy Interconnection Bill Awaits Governor’s Signature

Amended AB1026 bill directs the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) to require the following of large electric utilities: (1) post, by a date CPUC determines: (i) a list of information necessary to approve or deny an energization application; (ii) an example of an approved application; and (iii) an example of a complete application for a housing development; (2) make energization application determinations on the basis of a procedure CPUC specifies; (3) if an application is determined to be incomplete, provide the applicant notice and opportunity to cure and a process to appeal the determination; (4) immediately notify approved applicants by email and, if applicable, post the response on its website.
