Manufacturers’ Association Energy Files Appeal Of Utility’s Customer Sited Renewable Energy Resource Agreement With Amazon
The Ohio Manufacturers’ Association Energy group filed a notice of appeal with the Supreme Court regarding the Public Utilities Commission’s approval of AEP Ohio’s approved customer-sited renewable energy resource agreement with Amazon. In its appeal the Ohio Manufacturers’ Association Energy group stated that the PUCO’s Order issued on May 28th, 2025, and the PUCO’s entry on rehearing submitted in its Journal on July 23, 2025, are unlawful.
Under the approved agreement, AEP Ohio may procure, own, install, maintain, and operate behind-the-meter natural gas-powered onsite generation serving Amazon’s proposed data center in this territory.
