Utilities Energy Data Resource Reporting Extension Request Approved
New York PSC granted the Joint Utilities October 16th request for an extension until November 14, 2025 to file updated guidance for utility integrated energy data resource reporting.
Also the NY PSC issued an order whereby Staff is directed to file a proposal to modify data access requirements. Staff must file a proposal to modify data access framework requirements by February 17, 2026.

The 2024 summary and updated Q1 and Q2 2025 reports should be filed by October 30, 2025.

NYSERDA must, once the Integrated Energy Data Resource publishes the use case that integrates the community-scale energy usage data on the statewide centralized platform, file one or more notifications with the NYPSC Secretary in Docket Nos. 17-M-0315 and 20-M-0082 notifying the individual utilities to stop reporting their aggregated community data directly to NYSERDA.
As background the NY PSC launched this comprehensive proceeding to address “the strategic use of energy related data.” Specifically, the Commission wants to develop a Data Access Framework that clearly defines the process for access, standardizes the necessary privacy, cybersecurity, and quality requirements for access to energy-related data will ensure uniform treatment across various energy related data use cases. This framework will also include the development of metrics regarding quality and accuracy of energy related data.
