Utility Files Proposed Retail Customer Refund Status Update
CenterPoint Energy Houston (CEHE) “anticipates” that the customer retail refund will resume on December 15, 2025.
“Under the settlement agreement approved by the Public Utility Commission (Commission) in Docket No. 56211, CenterPoint Houston is required to provide a credit of approximately $5.2 million, comprised of a credit of approximately $3,744,784 to retail customers (the Retail Refund) and a credit of approximately $1,455,216 to wholesale transmission customers.1 The Retail Refund was to be refunded over a two-month period beginning on August 1,2025 and ending on September 30,2025.2 CenterPoint Houston completed the Retail Refund on September 30, 2025.”
“As a result of customer usage driven by milder weather, the Retail Refund was underfunded by approximately $406k.”

Rate Reduction Credit shall remain in effect until the aggregate amount of $406,031.96 has been refunded. After the aggregate amount of $406,031.96 has been refunded Rate Reduction Credit shall terminate.
