Commission Files Notice Of Hearing And Opportunity To Comment On Energy Storage Program

The Maryland Public Service Commission issues a notice seeking comments on the electric utilities filed requests for approval of their individual Energy Storage Procurement Proposals.

[ *** ] On October 31, 2025 and November 3, 2025, in accordance with Maryland Code, Public Utilities Article (“PUA”) § 7-216.2, and Commission Order Nos. 91705 and 91812, the Potomac Edison Company, Potomac Electric Power Company and Delmarva Power and Light Company, and Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (individually, the “Electric Company and, collectively, the “Electric Companies”) filed with the Commission their respective Requests for Approval of Energy Storage Procurement Proposals.

The Commission hereby invites interested stakeholders to file comments on the matter by January 2, 2026. Comments should be addressed to Andrew S. Johnston, Executive Secretary, 6 St. Paul Street, 16th floor, Maryland 21202, and reference “Case No. 9715” in the subject line.

The Commission also gives notice that it will conduct an in-person only, legislative-style hearing on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the conclusion of the 10:00 a.m. Administrative Meeting, and if needed, Thursday, January 8, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m., in the Frank O. Heintz Hearing Room of the William Donald Schaefer Tower, 6 St. Paul Street, 16th floor, Baltimore, Maryland 21202.
