Bill Would Increase Agency Authority

HB266 would increase the authority of New Hampshire’s Department of Energy (DOE) including:
- authority to investigate any matter related to statutes it administers, not just those coming before NHPUC;
- right to full party status and right to appeal in any NHPUC proceeding; and
- authority to require utilities and other entities under its jurisdiction to provide it with documents or other materials.
Most recently this bill reported favorably with amendment by House Science, Technology, and Energy Committee.
