Commission Approves Substantial Gas Utility POR Discount Increases
In an order the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities (DPU) has approved Fitchburg Gas and Electric Light Company d/b/a Unitil’s new purchase of receivables discount rates standard that became effective on and after December 1, 2025. The new POR discount rates include significant increases in the Residential and Small/Regular General Service purchase of receivables discount rates.
Fitchburg Gas and Electric will set the residential POR discount at 5.47%. For small & regular general service customers, the POR discount from the current 0.63% to 2.16%.
