IPA Releases Draft Policy Study For Public Comment
In accordance with Section 1-129 of the Illinois Power Agency Act recently enacted through Public Act 103-0580 (formerly Senate Bill 1699), the IPA has released the preliminary draft version of its 2024 Policy Study analyzing three policy proposals made during the Spring 2023 session of the Illinois General Assembly. The Policy Study focuses on energy storage systems, an offshore wind project in Lake Michigan, and a high voltage direct current transmission (HVDC) facility.
The Agency will provide for a 20-day open public comment period. Comments on the draft Policy Study are due on Monday, February 12, 2024. For more information on how to submit written comments, see the draft Policy Study cover letter:

The Agency will review public comments and publish a final Policy Study no later than Friday, March 1, 2024.
