Energy Storage Roundup
On November 7, 2024 the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities or BPU finally issued the long awaited energy storage incentive program revised straw proposal and draft rule. The BPU held a stakeholder meeting on November 20th and stakeholder comments are due by December 18. A recording of the meeting is available here and the slides are available here.
On December 9, 2024 the Assembly Telecommunications and Utilities Committee held a hearing on energy storage, including the impacts of small- and large-scale energy storage on the reliability and cost of electricity, recent changes in State energy storage programs, and potential legislation on the topic of energy storage.
On November 20, 2024, the BPU opened a new docket focused on a rate design and policy study regarding driving equity in the clean energy transition. (BPU Docket No. QO24110853).
