United Illuminating Residential Default Service Rate Increasing 14%; Small C&I Rate Increasing 11%

United Illuminating has filed new default service rates with the Connecticut PURA for the period beginning January 1, 2025.

The January 1, 2025, to June 30, 2025, UI residential (Rate R) Standard Service rate will be 13.5683¢/kWh, which is 14% higher than the current UI Rate R rate of 11.9101¢/kWh. 

The UI Rate GS Standard Service rate will increase to 13.4284¢/kWh on January 1, 2025, which is about 11% higher than the current rate of 12.0647¢/kWh

New Standard Service rates for January 2025 through June 2025 are as follows:

The Last Resort Service Generation Services Charge (GSC) rates for the three-month period beginning January 1, 2025 are as follows, in cents per kWh:
