Hearings Held/Scheduled In Illinois AG Lawsuit Against Residents Energy

Category: Uncategorized

A hearing in the Attorney General (AG) lawsuit against Residents Energy was held on August 27, 2024, and the next hearing is scheduled for November 18, 2024.

As background, Illinois Attorney General filed a lawsuit against retail electric supplier Residents Energy, alleging the company “employed fraudulent, unfair, and deceptive business practices to market and sell electricity services to consumers in Illinois. Among other practices, Residents has marketed its services by claiming consumers would save money on their electric bills when, in reality, consumers who switched to Residents virtually always paid considerably more for their electricity than they would have had they not switched.”
