IPA Posts Block Energy Fees, Guidelines & Contract Process
On September 3, 2024 IPA announced supplier fees for block energy and guidelines on block energy contract execution process.
According to this announcement, the Supplier Fees for the procurement events for Energy
Products under the Fall 2024 Block Energy and Capacity RFP are:
- $ 343 per on-peak block
- $ 229 per off-peak block
On September 6, 2024, IPA announced that the supplier fee for the Ameren capacity procurement event under the Fall 2024 BEC RFP is $20 per ZRC
A supplier who has bids approved by the Illinois Commerce Commission (“ICC”) will be assessed a Supplier Fee that is due to the Illinois Power Agency within seven (7) business days after ICC approval.
Other happenings:
- Bidder training was scheduled for September 4, 2024.
- Bid assurance collateral for capacity products was due September 5, 2024.
- Bids for energy products due by September 9, 2024.
- ICC decision on results scheduled for September 12, 2024.
- Virtual public hearings on the draft 2025 Electricity Procurement Plan are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. CT (MidAmerican), 11:00 a.m. CT (Ameren), and 1:00 p.m. CT (ComEd) on September 12, 2024. (See hearing notice for Zoom meeting links and information)
- Written comments due by September 16, 2024.
- Bids for capacity products due by September 13, ICC decision on results scheduled for
- September 19, 2024.
- IPA must submit the 2025 Electricity Procurement Plan to ICC by September 30, 2024.
- Objections to the plan due by October 7, 2024.
- ICC must confirm or modify the 2025 Electricity Procurement Plan by December 30, 2024.
IL 2024 Block Energy and Capacity Procurement RFP (Opened on 09/25/2023)
Joint proceeding for the three investor-owned utilities (IOUs), Ameren, ComEd, and Mid-American Energy (MEC), to procure block forward products with a supply period of 6/1/24 – 5/31/27 through an RFP.
