PUCO Issues Order Approving AES Ohio’s Proposed Bill Changes
“The Commission grants the application of The Dayton Power and Light Co. d/b/a AES Ohio to revise its bill format consistent with this Finding and Order.” This order includes changes to the location of the price to compare disclosure and related language.
Under the order AES will move the current bill language concerning the price to compare from the second page to the first page of the bill for several types of customers, including for non-residential customers currently taking supply from a competitive retail supplier.
In moving the PTC language to the first page of the bill for non-residential shopping customers, AES Ohio will include the PTC language in the “Account Level Message Center” section of the bill, grouped with other messages.
AES Ohio will make similar changes to the PTC message location for residential and non-residential bills for default service customers. However, there is no change to the PTC language itself in any of the approved bill format changes.
For utility consolidated bills of residential customers on competitive retail supply, the language concerning the price to compare will remain on the second page of the bill, with no change in the message’s language.
As part of the utility’s CIS upgrade, the new bill format will also include a new Choice Service ID for customers. The order states that the Choice Service ID shall be treated as “customer specific information,” which, under rule, is granted protection against unauthorized sharing with third parties.
