On June 6, 2024, the Office of People’s Counsel (“OPC”) filed a Request for Order Commencing Discovery and Pre-Hearing Conference (the “Request”).

OPC states that it has propounded discovery upon Washington Gas Light Company (“WGL”) and WGL Energy Services, Inc. (“WGES”). OPC noted that WGL has stated that it will not respond to data requests until the Commission issues an order regarding discovery in this case. OPC additionally requested that the Commission schedule a pre-hearing conference to be held at least 60 days after the issuance of any order commencing discovery.

WGL has not filed any opposition to OPC’s Request. The Sierra Club filed a memorandum in support of OPC’s Request.

The Commission directs that discovery in this case is to commence immediately and delegates the matter to the Public Utility Law Judge Division to conduct the proceedings.
