ICC Approves Spring 2024 Ameren Capacity Procurement
The Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) approved the results of the spring 2024 Ameren capacity procurement event, Of note, the only winning supplier was Voltus, and the average ZRC price was $88.97 per MW-day.
As background, this is a joint proceeding for the three investor-owned utilities (IOUs), Ameren, ComEd, and Mid-American Energy (MEC), to procure block forward products with a supply period of 6/1/24 – 5/31/27 through an RFP.
The plan approved by the ICC provides for:
- Spring 2024 procurement of monthly on-peak and off-peak standard block forward products and combinations for the three IOUs;
- Spring 2024 procurement of seasonal ZRC capacity products for periods starting 6/1/25 and 6/1/26 for Ameren;
- Fall 2024 procurement of monthly on-peak and off-peak standard block forward products as well as combinations for Ameren and ComEd; and
- Fall 2024 procurement of seasonal ZRC capacity products for periods starting 6/1/25 and 6/1/26 for Ameren.
