ICC Initiates Show Cause Order Against Octopus Energy for Failure to File Reporting Requirements

In this Initiating Order the Illinois Commerce Commission adopts Staff’s recommendation against Octopus Energy LLC for failure to comply with annual and quarterly filing requirements as outlined in Attachment A, Exhibit 23, appended to the Staff Report provides a sufficient basis to initiate such a proceeding.
Staff recommends the Commission impose a total penalty of $19,500.
Staff’s recommended penalty comprises penalties of the following amounts for failure to file:
- its Annual Compliance Certification due on April 30, 2024, $10,000;
- its Call Center Information Report due on March 1, 2024, $7,500; and
- its Environmental Disclosures, $500 for failure to file each report due in January 2024, April 2024, July 2024, and October 2024.
