Parties File Joint Motion In Support Of The OCA’s Motion For Rehearing & Proposed Dates

Dockets: DE 22-060
Category: Uncategorized

The Conservation Law Foundation, Clean Energy NH, the Community Power Coalition of New Hampshire, and the Granite State Hydropower Association filed a joint motion in support of the OCA’s motion for rehearing.   Intervening parties also filed a motion recommending dates for the rehearing.

As background, As a result of legislation enacted in New Hampshire during the 2022 legislative session as well as an upcoming report on the Value of Distributed Energy Resources (VDER) in the state, the NHPUC opened this proceeding to consider amendments to the net metering tariffs applicable to customer-generators. Specifically, the proceeding will investigate and answer the questions: whether the NHPUC should implement new alternative net metering tariffs, which may include other regulatory mechanisms and tariffs for customer-generators, and whether and to what extent such tariffs should be limited in their availability within each electric utility’s service territory.

This proceeding is shaping up to be a comprehensive rewrite of the state’s net metering rules. Suppliers that serve net metering customers and companies that offer distributed generation should pay close attention – and indeed, should participate in the proceeding – to make sure credits continue to be financially worthwhile for customers and developers.
