Category: Uncategorized

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PAPUC) issues an order establishing the following schedule has been set in Planet Energy’s complaint investigation:

  • A joint petition for settlement must be filed by June 14, 2024.
  • A joint petition for settlement to the proposed settlement must be filed by June 28, 2024.
  • Initial briefs are due by July 12, 2024, and reply briefs are due by July 26, 2024.

As background, the PAPUC’s independent Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement (BIE) filed a complaint against retail supplier Planet Energy. The central allegation is that Planet Energy canceled fixed-rate contracts without the required notices to customers. The BIE is seeking a civil penalty of $500 per impacted customer, for a total of $2,845,000, and the revocation of Planet Energy’s license to operate as a supplier in Pennsylvania.
