Another State Introduces A Bill To End Retail Energy Choice

The New Jersey Assembly Telecommunications and Utilities Committee Chairman Wayne DeAngelo introduced Assembly Bill A5439.

If passed, this bill would effectively end residential electric and gas retail choice while allowing the electric utilities to own generation.  While passage this year seems unlikely, the could be reintroduced in the next session that begins in January 2026.
