HB 1581 requires that IURC establish working group to provide recommendations on the creation, revision, or elimination of policies, processes, tariffs, rules, or standards relating to the interconnection of community solar facilities and electricity suppliers and adopt community solar facility rules incorporating the working group’s recommendations by July 1, 2026. 

The bill also requires that electric providers offer community solar within 180 days of adoption of those rules.
