Comment Deadline Extended On Customer Contract Language

Dockets: 18-06-02RE02
Category: Connecticut

PURA granted EOE’s  request to extend the deadlines for filing updated supplier contract language and the party comments on the proposed language.  By May 12, 2025, the Office of Education, Outreach, and Enforcement (EOE) must file a motion in this docket for PURA review and approval, with recommended language changes to supplier contracts on a prospective basis.

This proceeding was initiated by PURA to determine the “appropriate limitations” that should be placed on all customer contracts with retail electric suppliers, following a new state law which allows hardship customers (i.e., low-income customers) to shop for their retail electric supplier as long the supplier contact offered to the low-income customers is “at or below the standard service rate for the duration of the contracts.”

The working group members’ comments on EOE’s motion are due by May 22, 2025.
