Commission Approves Utility Changes Electric & Gas Green Programs Recovery Charge

The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) approves Public Service Electric and Gas Company’s June 2024 petition seeking to update its electric and gas Green Programs Recovery Charge rates. The parties executed a stipulation that results in an increase in the monthly bill of a typical residential electric customer of $0.81 and increase in the monthly bill of a typical residential gas heating customer of $0.75.

Docket No. ER24040206 – (In the Matter of Rockland Electric Company’s Annual Societal Benefits Charge Filing Reconciling Costs for the 12 Months Ending July 31, 2024 and Estimating Costs for the 12 Months Ending July 31, 2025; and Docket No. ER24070547 – (In the Matter of Rockland Electric Company’s Annual Conservation Incentive Program Filing – Reconciliation for the Period July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2024.) The Board also approved three (3) Rockland Electric Company rate filings: 1) Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative; 2) its Societal Benefits Charge; and 3) its Conservation Incentive Program. The parties executed three (3) stipulations which, if approved by the Board, would result in a cumulative increase in a typical residential customer’s annualized monthly bill of $3.06.
