Commission Files Notice Of Comment And Hearings In 2024-2026 EmPOWER Maryland Program

The Maryland Public Service Commission hereby gives notice that it will conduct in-person only, legislative-style hearings on October 22, 23, and 24, 2024, beginning at 10:00 a.m., in the Frank O. Heintz Hearing Room, 16th Floor, William Donald Schaefer Tower, 6 St. Paul Street, Baltimore, Maryland to consider the revised 2024-2026 EmPOWER Maryland plans of The Potomac Edison Company, Baltimore Gas and Electric Company, Delmarva Power & Light Company, Potomac Electric Power Company, Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative, Inc., and Washington Gas Light Company.

At the October hearings, the Commission will also consider the Q1/Q2 2024 semi-annual reports for the utilities and the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, the Cost Recovery Work Group Report, the EmPOWER Conservation Voltage Reduction Work Group report, the Cost Recovery Work Group report, the Finance Work Group report, two Limited-Income Work Group reports, the Midstream Work Group status report, and Evaluation Advisory Group report. 

Written comments on the Revised EmPOWER Maryland Plan, semi-annual reports, and other reports shall be filed by October 15, 2024. All filings shall be addressed to Andrew S. Johnston, Executive Secretary, Maryland Public Service Commission, William Donald Schaefer Tower, 6 St. Paul Street, 16th Floor, Baltimore, Maryland, 21202, and reference “Case No. 9705” in the subject line. The Commission encourages the parties to use its “eFile” system to submit the electronic version of the filing. Details of the “eFile” system can be found on the Commission’s website, www.psc.state.md.us.
