Draft 2024 RPS Report To General Assembly – Comments Sought
A Public Utilities Commission of Ohio’s (PUCO’s) Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) issued an entry seeking interested parties to file comments regarding Staff’s January 6th draft RPS report to be submitted to the General Assembly.
Initial comments are due by January 20, 2026, and any reply comments be filed by February 3, 2026.
From the Executive Summary of the Draft 2024 RPS Report To General Assembly:
Renewable compliance
The figures reported by EDUs and CRES Providers for compliance show a total 2024 compliance obligation of 9,169,819 renewable megawatt-hours (MWhs). Looking specifically at the EDU data, the numbers indicate that each of the EDUs met its respective RPS compliance obligations for 2024. When reviewing the 2024 compliance data for the CRES providers, it shows a small overall compliance deficiency. This is the result of a handful of CRES providers opting to pay the alternative compliance payment rather than retiring RECs or S-RECs. In the aggregate, the CRES providers do appear to have satisfied over 99% of their total compliance obligations.
