  • On December 29 PSE&G filed its electric and gas rate case with the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) seeking to recover over $3 billion in capital investment to modernize its electric and gas infrastructure. The full filing is available here. (BPU Docket Nos. ER23120924 and GR23120925)
  • On December 20 the Board designated Commissioner Christodoulou as the presiding commissioner for JCP&L’s petition seeking approval of its $934.8 million Infrastructure Investment Program II (“EnergizeNJ”). (BPU Docket No. EO23110793)
  • On December 20 the Board approved RECO’s petition requesting deferred accounting treatment of its $4.8 million storm preparation costs until its next base rate case. (BPU Docket No. ER23050280)
  • On December 20 the Board approved RECO’s petition to modify its retail transmission rates to reflect FERC approved changes effective January 1, 2024, and to use the BGS reconciliation charge as a means of collecting these transmission rate changes.  As a result, there will be a $2 increase to the monthly bill of a typical residential customer.   • On December 20 the Board approved a stipulation regarding JCP&L’s petition for approval of adjustments to the components of its Rider RRC charge, which results in a monthly bill increase of $0.91 for an average residential electric customer using approximately 500 kWh per month.  (BPU Docket No. ER23020060)
  • On December 12, the Board issued an updated schedule of its 2024 Regular and Quarterly Board Meetings, rescheduling the September 11 meeting to September 10.
