Electric Docket Roundup
On September 20, 2024 RESA provided testimony at the New Jersey BPU’s BGS legislative style hearing, a recording is available here. Rate Counsel objected to RESA’s Initial Comments proposing to allow TPSs to pass through capacity cost increases for fixed price customers. Prior to the hearing PSE&G advised that they allow customers on their proposed BGS TOU rate to switch to TPS supply.
Previously on September 4, 2024, RESA submitted BGS comments on PSE&G’s proposal to lock customers into a BGS TOU rate for 12 months, noting this would prevent those customers from switching to TPS supply. In addition, RESA argued EDCs should not be allowed to offer BGS TOU rates until TPSs have access to AMI data and should be allowed to pass through capacity cost increases for fixed price contracts since BGS suppliers are permitted to do so.
