Electric Utility Files Increased SOS Tariff Rates

Pepco filed an updated standard offer service (SOS) tariff for June 1, 2025 through May 31, 2026.  

“As compared to the same time period in 2024, a typical residential customer using 614 kWh per month, the increase in the energy charge portion of the bill will be $21.53 per month or 19.0% of the total bill.”

“[A] typical residential customer using 614 kWh per month would see an increase of $15.34 or 13.0% of the total bill when transitioning from the current Winter rates to the proposed Summer rates.”

Pepco also “proposes to decrease the Administrative Charge for Residential customers from $0.00465 to $0.00345 and for Small Commercial customers from $0.00690 to $0.00475.”

Comments on Pepco’s proposed SOS tariff was due by March 13, 2025, and reply comments due by March 18, 2025.
