Electric Utility Procurement
On November 21,2024 the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) approved the BGS procurement process for the period beginning June 1, 2025. (BPU Docket No. ER24030191).
The BPU ruled against RESA’s request to allow TPSs to pass through the PJM capacity cost increases for fixed price contracts, ruling that the re-adoption of the energy competition rules next year is the appropriate forum to address this issue. The BPU also noted that RESA’s argument about TOU rates and AMI data that PSE&G will not be preventing customers on TOU rates from switching to TPS supply and any concerns about access to AMI data should be raised in that separate proceeding.
