Energy as a Service “Concierge Utility” Registers As Texas Power Generation Company, With 400 MW Nat Gas Unit

Exergy Energy Inc. filed with the Texas PUC a new power generation company (PGC) registration, with the registration listing Exergy Energy’s generating facilities as consisting of Exergy Energy Pecos Power, which will have a total capacity rating of 400 MW from natural gas reciprocating engines, and which will be located in Reeves County, in the Texas New Mexico Power service area

In a FERC filing, Exergy Energy said that the facility is estimated to begin generating electricity in the third quarter of 2026. The FERC filing describes the capacity as, “up to 400 MW.”

The brand Exergy Energy, under entities (such as Exergy Energy LLC) which may differ from the distinct entity registering as a PGC (Exergy Energy Inc.), has described itself as a “Concierge Utility” for commercial and industrial customers, providing energy as a service

Among other services, Exergy Energy offers electricity and natural gas procurement. Exergy Energy previously announced in 2020 that it had entered into a partnership agreement with a broker to offer Exergy Energy customers access to an energy procurement auction platform operated by such broker
